The huge number of small, medium-sized and big companies, the growing industrial areas and direct access to the Ruhr Area say something for the importance of Menden as a business location. Thus training and further education do not miss out. In addition to many primary schools, there are a lot of secondary education institutions, among other things, three grammar schools and two schools for children with special needs (learning difficulties). The vocational school of the Märkischen Kreis and the adult education centre Menden-Hemer-Balve (VHS) complete the extensive offer in education and provide off-the-job learning.
